How can we spark young people’s interest and introduce them to the world of agriculture The team at BASF LLC knows the answer better than anyone. As part of our project “AgroMentor: Side by Side To Knowledge,” corporate mentors organized an exciting and interactive event for teenagers — a Field Expedition.
Our participants, all part of the Corporate Mentoring program, took part in an engaging themed quest called “Golden Grain.” Specialists from the company presented their respective roles and sincerely answered the flood of questions from our curious young people.

The quest began at the seed center, where participants moved through various interactive stations, completing creative tasks and collecting "knowledge tokens." They solved riddles, answered quiz questions, figured out where rye, barley, and wheat grow, played “Fact or Myth,” and assembled a treasure map. With each correct answer, they received symbolic grains labeled with values like passion, precision, balance, wisdom, strength, and skill — all qualities emphasized by the experts as key not only to professional success but to life in general. The mentors also shared how these values have helped them in their own journeys.
"I was amazed by the complex process that goes on around such a small grain! Exploring it under a microscope, visiting the lab and the huge facility that processes wheat—it was all fascinating. Thank you for the warm and friendly atmosphere." — Stas
Then came the most hands-on part — the field experience. In small teams, the teens created installations reflecting agricultural innovations, next-generation agro advertising, and even a secret grain-selection commission using only improvised materials. Both youth and adults were actively engaged in this creative, team-based challenge, accompanied by bursts of laughter and joy.
The participants also gave interviews, sharing their impressions of the event and their involvement in the project. For many teens, this was an invaluable experience that helped them feel heard, boosted their confidence, helped them overcome fears, and develop stronger communication skills.

"I really enjoyed taking part in the quest as a team captain. It was fun completing tasks together. Big thanks for the delicious pizza and fruit, too! I learned a lot of new things, and I especially loved the final creative task of building our installation." — Timur
We are deeply grateful to all BASF LLC specialists who made this possible — for their warmth, openness, and willingness to walk alongside young people. Their support plays a crucial role in helping youth discover new horizons, gain valuable skills, and explore possible future careers in a safe, supportive environment with caring mentors.

"I really enjoyed learning about what the agro center does and meeting the people who work there. What this company does is truly important and beneficial for the world. I was especially impressed by the sense of responsibility they show — toward their work, their team, and each other’s well-being. It warms my heart to see such dedication in a world full of challenges. Experiences like this inspire and motivate me. I’m deeply thankful to everyone who organized this event and invited me to be part of it." — Anton
