Synchronization of Calm: A Self-Help Toolkit

November gifted us a wonderful opportunity to gather with our youth and hold a workshop led by our Supermentor youth leaders — “Synchronization of Calm: A Self-Help Toolkit.”


The goal of the event was to create a safe and creative space where teenagers and their mentors could explore their own resources for recovery during stress.

Through practical exercises and art therapy, participants learned to:

  • recognize their emotional signals and needs;

  • identify individual ways of self-support;

  • restore inner balance through creativity and interaction;

  • strengthen trust and teamwork within the mentor–teen pair.

In psychology, synchronization is the process of aligning bodily rhythms, emotional states, or behavioral patterns between people during interaction. That is exactly what happened during our workshop: shared laughter, vulnerable stories, support, and warm hugs. Everyone had the opportunity to receive exactly as much resource as they needed that day.


Our mentors shared their own stabilization techniques, and the youth practiced them with great interest and openness.

Special thanks to our young leaders, Aliona Luhantseva and Volodymyr Bulyubash, who made an incredible impression on the group — with their professionalism, warmth, and creative approach. Every participant highlighted how valuable their contribution was.
